Harvest Mouse Project
Photograph taken by Paradise Park, Cornwall
Harvest mice can be seen in an enclosure at Paradise Park, Hayle, Cornwall where they are kept in natural surroundings.
One of our trustees is a regular visitor to the park. He recommends it as a place where birds can be seen nesting and animals playing. |
Surveys of the Trelusback site during the Winter months have revealed large numbers of vacated Harvest Mice nests amongst the tussocks of Purple Moor-grass Molinia caerulea and Cocksfoot Dactylis glomerata. The future management of the site is therefore designed to avoid cutting or grazing during the Summer months to avoid disturbing the Harvest Mice when they are breeding.
